Modulating The Truth

Hear and forget, see and remember, do and learn-

We can never know what somebody’s really thinking when they look in the mirror at a store or when we see them out in the public market picking out fruit.  Sometimes we might look at someone and assume that because they appear beautiful, in shape, skinny or wearing the latest fashions?  That they may have a perfect life.

Late Life Learning

Chances are though … We’ll never know for sure how they really feel.

In today’s world: Perception really is reality.  Might we suggest to you (this is a first here) that we need to become more conscious of the way we treat our bodies and the way we speak about it to others.  Let’s try making an honest effort to stay positive in the hardest of times while at the same time making healthy choices that have a ripple effect in our lives, not just in our self-perception, but in the way others perceive us as well.   As we start to intertwine these better decisions in our lives, we slowly begin to feel better.  As we continue feeling better, we gradually start to act and become more confident in our bodies.

The gift that really does keep on giving!

The Plan-

The Workout-

If you have never been out for a Trail Run what are you waiting for?  Start with a nice Walk, ease into running and end with a nice Walk.  Your body will be glad you did!

Walking Lunges … 25 steps each leg
10 Perfect Pull Ups
10 Perfect Pull Ups

How many times through is up to you?

Notes:

Apologies for the little rant yesterday, how will you ever forgive us?!?  The magic of CultFit is not the programs we are working with.  The real magic is reading between the lines and a willingness to do the work … ENJOY!!!

  1. Another thought provoking post. Presently I am looking inward to see if I am in fact leading by example and not judging others. I always try to smile inward as well as outwards. Is that how others see me? It’s good to just step back and observe oneself from other peoples perspectives.
A very timely post for me…thanks.
I’ll be doing the lunges and pull ups but with my weighted vest…still a sucker for punishment!

No problem mate, glad I could help a bit this morning. I feel the need to thank you for bringing up weighted vest’s! For the longest time I used chained belts, held weight between my feet and other methods to add weight to body weight movements. This changed for me when I deployed in 2008 … I started using my body amour as a workout tool (basically a weighted vest). What a huge improvement it made! Going back over the years and studying the movement patterns of using a weight vest’s … reveled to me that weight, when added to your torso is the best bang for the buck, so to speak!!! Its a more natural way to go about cranking up the intensity!

      Have a great one today!

Thank you! Every single day has its share of challenges for us at times. Today’s post means a lot to me, maybe because I kinda wrote it to myself?!? 😉
I hope you have a great day today!!!

I’m feeling pretty optimistic after the physiotherapist appointment today. I’ve been seeing several over the years when I’ve gotten injuries but this time it’s different. She’s going to help me strengthen my muscles so that I can mop the floors without spasm–which happened two Wednesdays ago–and if I wanted to go back to the type of job I love (scanning documents) I will be able to do that. The funny thing is that since I’ve started working at 16, it took me until I was mid 30s to find the job that I really like and am very good at. I’ll be seeing the physio two days a week from now on.

    Have a nice day!

I really hope your new physio is going to work out for you so you can get back to doing what you enjoy the most!
      Take care. 🙂

I am always preach to my children about the power of making good decisions. I am always positive when it comes to body image. I truely love you for who you are on the inside, but I will not hesitate to help you with the outside if I can. 🙂
