Be Easy on Me

We can only evolve so far sitting still in comfort-

Take a gentle moment to close your eyes and observe the thoughts that arise within your mind. You don’t have to share what popped up although chances are, your mind either brought up something from the past or moved into the future. More times than not, this mental commentary is a constant distraction that keeps us from focusing on the here and now.

CultFit Aware

As we begin to slow down in this hectic world, our mind quiets down and begins the slow process of focusing on one thing: Now. In the present moment there are no marathons in two weeks, parent teacher conference in two days, fear of failure, or anxiety prior to showing up to the big event. These “things” are the direct result of our mind endlessly sliding from the past into the future.

When we settle into stillness and embrace the life in front of us right now, our fears and worries dissolve.

The Workout-

A simple Walk, nothing more.

The greatest gift of stillness comes when we’re able to maintain this present moment. Just something to ponder whilst taking a self-shoot of yourself, in the bathroom, after blasting your abs at the gym …

      HA! You bet it does, we can transfer this “stillness” business to many other aspects of our lives. A still hand and mind comes in handy while making some fine pottery. Planning our route up the wall and visualizing before we grab the first hold, is very handy. πŸ˜‰ I fidget a lot during the day, I also tell myself a million times during the day to be still and present. It does take immense amounts of practice yet when we narrow down what’s really important in our lives and apply stillness … Damn it feels pretty cool. πŸ™‚ Be well today!

      Most, if not all of the images I use are “adjusted” by myself. I’ll change the color, highlights etc. of a stock photo. Others, kind readers send to me to use and share. This image today is very poignant and powerful and I’m glad you enjoyed it. πŸ™‚ Take care today!

  4. I love this post and the photographs are spectacular but, I gotta say, the first photo fills me with an indescribable feeling of dread and panic that makes me really stop and wonder why that is. Does anyone else react in a similar manner?

      I thought exactly what you are thinking, then after a little bit and maybe a glass of wine I realized I was viewing this image with a lot of what I call: “Life Baggage”. Feelings and thoughts that have conditioned me to fell a certain way when seeing an image as such, then I had a thought (which are rare) … Awareness. Being fully present, in the moment during whatever activity you may doing (yoga-running-whatever). If you were to fall into some water like this, I would image you would become pretty aware of your situation and your surroundings, pretty quick. No time to update Facebook, tweet or write a witty blog post about falling off your boat in the Mediterranean. Being fully immersed, aware of whatever activity you may engaged in. Now that you have me thinking a bit, I am reminded of why mirrors in yoga studios are our own worst enemy πŸ˜‰
