In today’s increasingly complex world. Each and every minute it’s becoming harder to experience the relative simplicity of the seconds of the day passing by. We will take the moral low road and blame this on the discovery of “Social Media” which we have become both liberated and enslaved by its mind-numbing power. Thanks to this we are virtually drowning in a sea of irrelevance.
Have we willingly given up our ability to think for ourselves?

20 Hard Style Kettle-Bell Swings (Snappy)

When I Walked With You Last Night

Let’s cut out all the fitness/health verbiage to start the week shale we?: What you see before you this morning is a simple message that will only be understood by a few.

Recent troubling developments prompt us to revisit a subject that we have discussed in the past: The Gallon of Water Dude(Chicas? You are just as bad if not worse …) at the gym and his plan to use our weaknesses to his advantage. But first, allow us to pose you a question: Is The Gallon of Water Dude actually concerned about any of us or does he just want to advocate fatalistic acceptance of a venal, meat-headed new world order? After reading this post, you’ll sincerely find The Gallon of Water Dude is the latter. Many peeps who follow Gallon Water Dude’s threats have come to the erroneous conclusion that the majority of impertinent slubberdegullions workout 25 hours a day, eight days a week and thus deserve occasionally to create a world without history, without philosophy, without science, without reason—a world without beauty of any kind, without art, without literature, without culture. The stark truth of the matter is that The Gallon of Water Dude thinks we are trying to say that censorship could benefit us all. Wait! We just heard something … Oh, never mind; it’s just the sound of our point zooming way over Gallon Water Dude’s head. To reiterate the main message of this rambling Monday post, widespread emotionalism is the price we’d pay for making “superultrafrostified“ a dirty word.

Try anything once peeps…
On any given day we get a lot of questions asked around here at CultFit. One that gets asked quite often is how much exercise do the kiddo’s need? Because we know you are extremely busy pinning things and browsing Living Social we’ll provide you with a rather simple answer: Kids need less exercise than you think.
Why do we as parents feel that exercise needs to be something extreme and dangerous?
A really simple way we go about boosting our mood with the kids is by taking a brisk walk outside. And you know what? There are a lot of real, live trees out there! Plants and stuff! Don’t believe us? Click Here—> Green Exercise. Or as Sister Margaret likes to say: Get your damn be-hind outside!

We have had this program sitting in the corner for sometime now. Time to gently blow the dust off of it before the weekend…
A quick sweat inducing Warm Up consisting of three of the following movements:
*Sprints, Jumping Jacks, Perfect Push Ups, Goblet Squats, Walking Lunges, KB Swings, High Knees, Butt Kicks, Picking up Stuff and Tossing it About, playing with the Slosh Pipe*
We picked: Sprints, Walking Lunges and Throwing Stuff…The neighbors may think you’re nuts already. Wait until they see you throwing a med ball around the back yard?!? Followed By:
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 One Arm Perfect Press while implementing a Finger Tip Pinch Grip on the non pressing hand? What do you normally do with the non pressing hand? Today using a Finger Tip Pinch Grip actively hold something while pressing with your other hand! Phone books, Bumper Plate, Softball, Cannon ball, Shot Put…Anything awkward and odd.
Top Tip: Look through the Press – Feet together – Balanced Hips – Actively Hold the Wight.

We often talk about grace during a program. More times than not it acts as a bookend for form and flow. There is a reason we always state: Form, Flow and Grace. The primary purpose is to eradicate clutter within our program/workouts. You can also apply our handy-dandy idea to life away from a hard run. Maybe one evening at home when the little precious ones magically turn into little turds? Once you embrace this concept your focus will sharpen and grace will certainly follow.
A wise man once said: “There is a lesson in everything you do.” Don’t worry he didn’t write this post today. So on that note, What has the measure of your life taught you? Strength? Resilience? Grace? Generosity? Sure, that’s the easy stuff. What about the stuff that inspires not only you to achieve your goals but others as well?
Life peeps is about presence. Being attentive to your warm breath. Attending to your battered body.
“Why in the hell would you want to do this?!?”
Why? We do this to create balance, inside of our bodies as well as outside (this is where a true Smile shines through! Ask a seven-year old to laugh and smile to get our point…).
“What does all of this attention get us anyways?
It gets all of us fully engaged in the task at hand yet it does all of this in spite of our limitations. Live every moment of your life fully, no matter what!
We gotcha!!! We all face our roadblocks, challenges (you name it) both big and small although we shouldn’t need to confront a challenge in order to show up or be present for ourselves. Pay keen attention and be engaged in your life! Classic example of ignoring this message:
“Like look Brah I can’t workout today because my back is killing me. Maybe it was the 10 max OHS for time or the Francis I did in ten minutes…I don’t know dude. I’ll go with you and do some active recovery burpees. That should help?”
Finally when these obstacles and challenges do arise or if they are present for us right in this moment? They aren’t a major disruption to our lives, but rather become part of our experience as a whole (this “Thing” called life).
Whether you are struggling after a recent micro-fracture/ partial knee replacement surgery or simply trying to touch your tippy-toes is of little consequence to US (this includes you dear reader) here.
What truly matters is showing up, and leaving your limitations at the door. Showing up does not imply that it is OK to knock on the door at 4am asking for a place to hide out until “Things” cool down.

Our Warm Up today will consist of the following:
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 *KB Step Ups- (Our ideal step height would be thigh parallel with the floor while stepping on something- we used a tree truck)
*KB- If you don’t have any? No excuses! Pick up something lying around…Here some kids– perfect height and weight for a Rack Hold step up!?!
Followed by and certainly Not For Time:
100 Perfect Push Ups
100 Swings
100 Goblet Squats
100 KB- One Arm Push Press (If the fire has been lit? 100 each arm…)
100 KB- One Arm Snatch (JaJa you wish…)
100m Rack Hold Farmers Walk x5 (Palms facing your tired chest, weight not touching or resting on your weary body…Actively hold the weight.)

Try not to worry too much about the numbers at the moment. Openly ask yourself the questions and preferably ask them aloud, like right now. That little nugget of brain residing between your ears likes to sabotage events from time to time.

Life is wonderful and very, very humbling at times. Our crack Human Behavior Lab here at CultFit HQ estimates between 98.9 and 99.9% of you have tried this before in some manner or another in your life. Of course we would never know that from your perfect slice-o-life-blog…
The Workout-
Pulled from our “Thinking Cap” series at CultFit…
Trail Run/Bike/Swim into a nice lather followed by:
5 Perfect Dead Hang Pullups followed by:
10 Scap Dips (elbows lose not locked – neutral head position – toes pointing/reaching to the floor) followed by:
5 Perfect 5 Count Push Ups (allow your breath to release you)
20 minutes or so of Leg Drains and Self Reiki
Pattern and Loading remember? Ten times through is pretty good and if the Pull Ups become a challenge: Change grip first then stop…if you are not initiating the pull through your axilla? It’s time to start patterning proper Perfect Pull Ups!

If your goal is to strike a nerve today (literally) go ahead with the program with reckless abandon (four people know why this is the case)! Have a splendid day, let the sun warm your face before you set off this morning and most importantly, ENJOY!!!
