They asked me what I was reading – and laughed when I told them Batman. Probably thought to themselves, “Oh, he’s a graphic novel lover.” And I am – but not for why they think. Instead I’m modeling.
I’m never going to be rich like Bruce Wayne, but it’s the archetype that I’m tapping into. It’s no different than studying Greek mythology to understand fundamental human behaviour we all have inside of us. I’m a martial artist – whereby the martial arts has affected the way I live my life. Reading Batman allows me to tap into a world where being better than human is possible – and that means I can try to bridge that gap in my own mind. One thing is very clear to me: whether Bruce is real or not, he trained his ass off in the martial arts in order to do what he’s able to do. While he’s got all the gadgets in the world, hard work and time spent in the arts are the two things that really come out when he’s fighting. And that’s something I can aspire to.
Read comics. Be better than human.
Rest Day … It’s the perfect night to go for a Brisk Walk with the little ones!
Much respect to CTK for dropping a terse message in our lap this fine morning. We prefer terse, pithy and dense messages around these parts! Bundle up, be safe tonight and most importantly … ENJOY!!!
An inordinate passion for pleasure is the secret of remaining young-
Today’s Sign of the Apocalypse: Storm Blaster
What are we looking to achieve through this “thing” called life anyways? Have you ever stopped to think about the phrase: I’m trying to get through life by any means possible? The problem is that we spend every ounce of spare energy we have kicking, kipping, running and forcing our bodies through the day.
“Woke up late, Rushed to make it in the shower, Traffic is a nightmare and the tank is on empty, I’ll run at lunch, Damn that frigging deadline was today … Screw lunch! I’ll run and workout before bed“
Want to know what’s crazy, truly insane when you step back and look from a different perspective? We honestly feel that the hardest “thing” we will do in life is some random marathon, CrossFit, Bootcamp, P90x or even a romp in the mud. Everyday life peeps is a marathon (or whatever else), one deadline after the other. One hardship after another, one triumph and struggle after another … Finally we end the day with a sprint to the finish line (SLEEP!). Our lives are such a myopically focused race, for what? Each and everyday goes by in a rush. When others view us they see a blur, a streak rushing past to the finish line …
There’s no “Participant” medal at the end of this Finish Line … Digest this thought over your tea today.
Apparently the cool kids like to name their WAD’s or whatever. Say hello to “Sandy“.
Go for a nice relaxing Trail Run. That’s it … Well?!? Add the following to the end:
100 Perfect Push Ups
100 Goblet Squats
100 Hard Style KB Swings

**BREAKING NEWS- There is a hurricane in ‘Merica**
Good advice is something a man gives when he is too old to set a bad example-
Top Tips, Advice, Input … All of these are tedious and boring, something we painstaking try not to push your way. The closest we have ever come to “Advice” is ‘Ole Uncle Mo gently slapping you up side the noggin, and let’s be honest: We all need a good slap up side the head from time to time.
So on that note, we will be tossing out some talking points this week as we slowly start to fall into hibernation here in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s a slow process but we all do it, yeah you too!!! Our hibernation starts with the shorter days and the cooler temps, then the excuses start to pour in: Too Cold, Too Dark, Too Many Pumpkin Spiced Everything’s!
“Hey girl! Check out the Chica over on the treadmill. Yeah, the one there chatting up the new trainer dude … She has and will soon have everything you want in life?!?“
Jealousy and Envy are great personal tools to use, albeit when used with tact and great care.
Jealousy and Envy are rather ugly, nasty emotions we display more times during the day than we initially thought. You know what though? These handy little emotions secretly tell us the truth about our inner-most feelings. When was the last time you envied or were jealous of someone having a flip-phone? Never … The fact is: You only envy those who have what you desire the most … You are only jealous when you feel someone has taken something from you.
Most of you reading today spend too much time running away from life, quite literally in fact. If we stop for a moment to embrace our emotions, whatever they may be? We can learn so much from them. Our emotions are here: To teach us, to guide us and to help us make the tough decisions we face in life.
Dust off the Jump Rope and let’s get after this program while the day is still young.
Mess around with your trusty rope for a few minutes to Warm Up. Followed By:

Once again this is not AMRAP … 30 minutes would be nice?!? If you fancy yourself as Uncle Rico? Carry on with AMRAP, just keeping it real peeps!
Jealousy and Envy (when used properly) can open up the world you were oblivious to or may have taken for granted, before you read this post of course!?! Take care today and ENJOY!!!
