The rumblings in your head have been going on for sometime now. Let’s not forget about your stomach and possibly your lungs. Yup the sun is out and it’s time to get into shape for summer. We know you could try eating a mindful diet and moving more throughout your day. You could even scavenge all your health tips from some random blog-o-person. But no, you are always right about everything! Just keep on doing what you always have…That will probably take care of everything.

The Plan-
The Workout-
Of the vast majority of emails we receive weekly one question in particular seemingly always sticks out: “What do you guys mean by perfection?” “Perfect Push Up, Pull Up, Swings…?”. Well finish up doing your hair and reading the paper this morning because you are finally going to get the complete answer!
The Golden Rule here at CultFit HQ: One “Perfect” movement trumps 10 “Disgraceful” movements. Perfection is not our enemy, fear of achieving it is! This is why Uncle Mo gets in trouble all the time with the X-Fit apes!
Harmony and Balance, long time readers intimately know the meaning of these words (As we use them too damn much!). Perfect harmony finally grasps you when your mind releases itself to your heart; Meaning, when perfection replaces fear. The more you open yourself to perfection, the less you will be afraid of fear.
Our fear of perfection comes from many different aspects of our lives. Who we choose to associate with, friends, family and co-workers. Just remember and re-read this next statement a million time if you have to: Here at CultFit…Fear not the Workout or all the hard work that preempts the Workout itself. The true importance of the Workout is in experiencing its many joys and making it thorough to its end.
Not for time…(This is exactly what we did today at 6am while the sun was brilliantly waking up.)
**Two notes: Google Machine Axilla and put on some extra pit perfume this morning**
Perform a free-flowing and graceful Sun Salutation series until you passionately feel you are lubed up and ready. Followed by:
Neutral Grip Perfect Pull Up Hang…(We used monkey bars…Thumb wrapped over the top of bar, palms facing forward, lengthen yourself- Toes to the earth, Open your Axilla(s)/Stinky Pits and gently hang).
Neutral Grip Perfect Pull Up Hang…(Same as before. This time GENTLY bring your left ear to your left bicep, fold your head to the side! Return to eyes forward and repeat this time with your right ear).
Neutral Grip Perfect Pull Up Hang…(Same as before. This time GENTLY fold your head to the side and look through your left hand- It will feel like a roll. Do the same with your right side).
Neutral Grip Perfect Pull Up Hang…(Lengthen your body…Focus on your pits! This is where you will initiate your pull with a Perfect Pull Up).
Go for a Walk for a short while and return to the same bar…
1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 Neutral Grip Perfect Pull Ups…(No kicking, No crossing legs, No bucking around like a wild child, No craning your neck!!! PERFECTION!!! Nice even chest to bar pulls initiated through your really stinky pits right about now.)
Before the Walk listen to your body as to when to let go and release from the bar. After the Walk…If you can’t quite get the pull yet? 45-60 Seconds Gently hanging around!

What are your thoughts on negative pullups? I like doing those when my back feels tight and needs a stretch but still working out the muscles. Then I go to child pose and reach to each side for a good 30 count.
Negatives are great…I pretty much do them for the same reasons as you described! In the garage I have a bar at finger tip height so I can just do a few negatives and then roll through some forward bends etc. Loosen up the old joints
I think when done correctly (in a healthy fashion) pull ups and some yoga poses tend to lend themselves together pretty nicely. Thoughts? Have a great weekend and I was just about to comment on your post as well (great program BTW).
That last photo is amazing!! I’m glad you reminded where the ‘pull’ should be initiated from…I think that’s been one of my biggest mistakes. Enjoy your weekend!

Love #1 of Rooney’s Rules- need that at the gym I work at. When I call members out for slipping in and they say “You don’t know who I am?” I usually reply “Should I?” Passive aggressiveness works best.
