The swimmer who crosses the sea, the soldier at war: Does not see anything but his goal. He forgets himself in his effort to achieve his aim. That is liberation-

Goals…Well for one thing, the above quote sums up everything you have been doing wrong in regards to goals and goal setting.  Thirty words peeps, no more no less.  So how would we address cultivating healthy goals after prefacing our post the way we did today?  In all seriousness you know how we fell already, right?  As you know we like to dig a bit deeper around these lonesome parts and make some semblance of finding the real answer…

The ultimate success of a well thought out goal is to make them in a way that will enable you to feel free of guilt and absent of remorse when you reach the end (whatever that may be).  That is our convoluted message today dear reader, really it is!?!  Without writing a book and charging you $17.95 for it…Hell, just re-read the above bit and carry on.

Hmm what would my goal be if I was to be dropped in an ocean somewhere (not the North Sea peeps a proper ocean)?  HTFU and swim to shore?  Now that sounds like a plan to work with!!!  Golly gee williker’s we could play this game all day:  ”My goal is to run a marathon…RUN.”  My goal is to lose weight…Stop eating so much.”  ”My goal is to live a healthy and happy life…Be Authentic – Be YOU!!!”

The Plan-

The Workout-

We almost forgot about this program in our “Can it be this easy” series here at CultFit HQ

Today and Today  only pick an out of the ordinary Warm Up for yourself.  Maybe a spot of Basketball, Swimming, Calisthenics, Tumbling…Followed by:

One and One Half Mile Run (RUN!!!) Followed by:

250 (or so) Hard Style KB Swings Followed by:

One and One Half Mile Run (REFLECT on what just happened…)

The run is not set in stone and by all means feel free to play around with this program today.

Notes:

“My goal is to completely ignore my iThingy the rest of the day…”  ENJOY!!!

What a lovely post with such powerful messages. LOVE the big wheels!

  2. They need to make big wheels for adults. Actually, do they even make them anymore for kids? My emails end with “It never gets easier, you just get faster.” I love that quote! :)

    • CultFit says:

I think they still do although they are too safe now compared to the good ole days ;) One of the kids in the neighborhood has one that you can “drift” and slide all over with (maybe made by Razor?). If I don’t run him over after work I will stop and ask him for you!

    • That’s funny! I only want the one that does spin-outs – I just never see kids on them anymore. Guess it’s not cool.

  3. Thanks for the “like”. Really enjoyed the way you are using photos and a pep talk along with a specific workout. Well done!

super message for today, thanks. what you say always makes so much sense to me…

    • CultFit says:

I’m glad I can help you out! Seriously, If I dropped you in the North Sea…You would get your butt out of there pretty quick with a firm grasp on what your goal would be ;)

    • urbanbeings says:

i would swim like the clappers till i was on good ol’ solid ground… if i didn’t get hyperthermea first, nippy in the North Sea!

  5. Thanks for a great message today! That big wheel shot Is too funny!! :)

  6. I laughed at the picture of the dog, mine watches everything I eat and run towards me everytime I open the fridge or the pantry… Usually makes me think twice about whether or not I really want more food lol And he’s always with me when I go for a run :)

    Three goals:
    1. Stop letting outside sources be my inspiration/influence for my own actions.
    2. Reach to better myself everyday, in one way or another
    3. Get my mind right so my hindparts will follow

  8. Excellent – I need this on my mirror.

I enjoyed reading this post, thank you! :)

  10. Thank you for liking my poem! It means SO much to me! I hope you drop by often. My goal, for a long time now, has been to be more patient at work. The quote at the end of this entry is inspiring and so apt! Sometimes I feel when you tread a road of anger and frustration, it’s hard to make a turn. So it never gets easier, I just have to get better at controlling my emotions. Thank you for that.

    • CultFit says:

I always like poking around through the blog reader and for some reason I was really taken in by your poem, pretty cool! You are so right in regards to anger and frustration..It bogs us down so much during our daily lives. I wish you the best and I thoroughly enjoy your writing!!!

    • Hello again! I kept reminding myself about the quote and at the end of the day, I probably lost my cool only twice instead of every twenty minutes. Even my partner told me she noticed the difference! =D
