I tweaked my groin last night doing a “Francis” what should I do? Step back and take a deep breath…forget about the next WOD or Random Fitness fad and enjoy the workout today.
It’s highly recommended for all CultFit team members to have a Kettle Bell or some other kind of weight (yes kids count) in their disaster kit packed away in the truck of the car. Keeping that in mind…
Starting point is somewhere to the right in the picture(25 yards sounds good)…Out and Back (for the sake of argument there are ten trees). Upon return perform 5 Perfect Push Ups and Swings!

Time is the longest distance between two places-
It’s not very often that we are completely at ease with the Random Fitness universe. We have our moments at times and like to lash out as best as we know how…Yes we know it’s inherently bad and an unhealthy attitude to have although it feels so good does it not?
Warm up as best as you know how…for us today at the pristine confines (look it up X-Fit apes) of CultFit HQ we choose to Walk/Jog/Walk for 30 minutes followed by:
2-2-2-2-2 Perfect Pull Ups followed by:
5-5-5-5-5 Perfect Push Ups in between the pull ups
Now the fun part! Those of you that have been reading for a while know we really eschew the use of pictures due to the X-Fit apes limited scope and knowledge of actually reading something. Follow along if you like or email/comment if you have questions.
1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 Perfect Wide Grip Pull Ups…Naturally return to the floor and perform the following:
1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 Top of Push Up Plank Walk Out…Key Points: Feet wider than shoulder/hand width. Torso tight…remember string tied to navel being pulled straight back. From the Top of Plank position use tiny baby steps with your hands to walk forward and back to start position (ab wheel without the ab wheel). This is a much more precise movement and infinitely harder to perform.
If you read the above quote you will get the point of this movement today…If not your obviously an X-Fit ape who will try to do 100 of these for time, Enjoy!
Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish-
Have you ever woken up early on a quite Monday morning and instantly knew that your body was ready for a good program to start the day? Neither have we…or they come so infrequently it’s tough to tell when the last one was. Monday’s are generally reserved here at CultFit HQ for addressing little problems and awaking the senses for the week ahead. To us waking up and perform a “Gertrude” or “Dorothy” in 10 minutes is simply not ideal and down right harmful to the body. If you look over our past Monday posts you will see a pattern of harmony and balance emerge right before your eyes almost magically. Today is no different…
Remember the goals you have set? Milestones and tests? 3-2-1 or whatever it is the X-Fit apes say? Just like a pebble dropped into the water our programs here at CultFit extend outwards and develop a long-lasting healthy pattern…Pebbles not boulders X-Fit apes.
30 Minute Walk/Jog/Hike (forget the distance and HR…find a rhythm and do it)
3×5 Perfect Pull Ups (lengthen, at least spend 15-20 seconds on the bar) followed by:
10×5 Perfect Push Ups (chin, chest on floor at bottom…elbows tucked at sides fully locked out at top)
Spend 30 Minutes working up to a one rep (heavy) Turkish Get Up…This is not a race apes.
Strive for perfection and tuning in on what works best for you, Enjoy!

It is wise young X-Fit Random Fitness ape to remember the elusive B-word…balance.
We openly welcome the argument that life in this modern age is always on full-speed for all aspects of life. The Random Fitness apes feel personally insulted if a paleo/WOD website does not load instantaneously. We feel as if we’re going slowly if there is traffic on the way to the “box” and we can only drive 70 miles an hour. With an environment that is continually spinning so fast and aimlessly, it’s a wonder that we’re all not dizzy, all of the time. To bring balance to our environment, we need to slow down those fast times and do things that ground and center us. Things that are enjoyable, relaxing and rejuvenating. Things that allow us to stop, breathe and enjoy life daily.
If pompously displaying your talents during a Random Workout brings balance to your life…We’ll pray for you just a tiny little bit. If you find yourself this afternoon or while over the weekend reading about some new fantastic way to train and how wearing d-bag five fingers will allow to you train just that much harder. Ask yourself this one question out loud: “Will this work for me and help me reach my goals?”
This all stems from really narrowing down a tight list of movements that work for you, nothing more nothing less. We here at CultFit HQ have had quite a bit of success doing some of these programs and have met some pretty cool goals along the way. Like, who knew you could do next to nothing as some X-Fit ape e mailers like to write and compete and finish in the Leadville Trail 100 MTB Race? We’re here to tell you that no amount of X-Fit douche baggery WOD’s will prepare you for that event! The answer lies somewhere hidden in that B-word…
We continue to get a fair amount of email about stretching and whatnot…If you want an honest answer ask a 5-year-old what they do before they go outside and play?

For us a rest day is not sitting on the couch all day while eating almond’s and reading the latest paleo blog news. It’s about getting outside and actually doing something healthy and enjoyable. We could make a list of things to do for those reading this today but what point would be made in doing that?
